The Buddhists say

Life is Suffering

I look around

and see my parents in pain

my sister with cancer

soldiers dying for nothing

mother earth destroyed

by ignorance

and my psyche saddens

When I have a chance

to forget tomorrow

with friends

it seems such a nice escape

drinking the elixir

of forgetfulness

for an hour or two

it is a great release....

On Easter

I looked around the table

and thought of another

supper

Did the apostles

laugh, slur and act foolish

did they make jokes

that made no sense

Did Jesus attempt to

straighten them up

telling them

"This is my body"

and they continued

to party?

Did Judas become

more morose and depressed

while Peter danced on the table

Later,

when they went to Gethsemane

and Christ prayed knowing

what was coming

trying to get out of it

did they all just pass out

from too much wine?

If we knew what

tomorrow held

could we make it

through the day?
